About Us

Faithful 1, Inc. is a faith-based community organization committed to restoring and empowering families so they can become successful citizens in their church and community. We are Christ-centric, multicultural, and multiracial: a team of professionals and volunteers from diverse disciplines and ministries on a mission of hope, love, faith, and peace.

Our Mission

Bridging Lives Back to God, Family & Community

To promote and contribute to the restoration and stabilization of “at-risk” families and the preservation of the entire community by providing a cadre of programs (“bridges”) that transform the lives of individuals and families. We serve those who are currently incarcerated, returning citizens (ex-offenders), and members of displaced families, helping them rebuild their lives and realize their full potential.

Our Vision

Families Restored. Communities Strengthened.

To assist underserved families in our community to excel spiritually, educationally, and in social development and financial skills, and to restore and empower families to become successful citizens in their church and community.

Our Goals

Our goals and objectives are to provide networks that “bridge” individuals with God, family, and community. Working with diverse faith-based organizations, we provide spiritual, wrap-around support that includes:

  • Housing (transitional and long-term)
  • Healthcare and wellness programs
  • Transportation
  • Financial planning and assistance
  • Mentoring and life skills
  • Job training and placement
  • Technology and literacy
  • Educational, career, and pastoral counseling

Our Story

Faithful 1 and its partners have functioned in education, health and wellness, financial planning, and community development consulting in Chicago since 2001. Our founder and president, Evangelist Dr. Joyce J. Jones, Ph.D., envisioned a faith-based, comprehensive service provider for underserved families in crisis, one that would not only give them a second chance, but a fresh beginning.

Having served on many advisory boards, grassroots coalitions, and collaborations, Dr. Jones saw the lack of Christ-centered, intergenerational family-service agencies in many of Chicago’s impoverished, high-crime communities. The need for family reconciliation and restoration was going unmet, and disadvantaged families remained devastated. To become productive, families need access to quality education, health care, finance, housing, and transportation. Being Christ-centric and partnering with many organizations, Faithful 1 takes a holistic approach to overcome the catastrophic impact of incarceration on the family unit, reclaiming and restoring families and stabilizing communities for Christ.
